Most effective campaigns in the country come from Digitel&

Zagreb, October 5, 2009 - That the campaigns the leading and most awarded domestic agency, Digitel&, comes up with are more than just results of excellent creativity was confirmed at the recently held Croatia Effie Awards 2009, a competition that assesses and evaluates the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. It is a renowned international competition which has been held in 35 countries world-wide for more than 40 years.

The Effie, also known as the “Marketing Oscar”, is particularly important because it awards ideas that are effective, i.e. ideas that bring concrete results. Such an evaluation shows the justifiability of marketing investments because only those campaigns that meet or exceed previously set business goals are awarded.

Amidst competition from more than 50 submitted works, Digitel& won a total of five awards, including the award for the best campaign:

•  the Grand Prix Effie (for the most effective campaign) – Ured za van 1 (Office to Go) – T-Mobile/Digitel/DMS

•  the Golden Effie in the telecommunications services category – Ured za van 1 (Office to Go) – T-Mobile/Digitel/DMS

•  the Silver Effie in the telecommunications services category – MAXadsl Christmas campaign – T-Com/Digitel/DMS

•  the Bronze Effie in the financial services category – U kreditu je spas (Salvation Lies in Loans) – PSŠ/Digitel

•  the Bronze Effie in the financial services category – go!card launch campaign – Zagrebačka banka/Digitel/DMS

Above-mentioned campaigns were awarded because they directly contributed to an increase in the number of service/product users, or to expanding market stakes. Within this context, one should point out in particular the Ured za van 1 campaign, which directly contributed to an impressive 30% increase in the number of mobile internet users within a mere two months!

Srđan Gulić , chief creative director of Digitel&, had this to say on the occasion: “ I have never received such an important acknowledgement for my work as the Effie Grand Prix for the most effective campaign in these 20 or so years that I have been working in advertising! The work of a creative person in the advertising industry definitely includes a daily battle for something new, more interesting, different, but this ‘applied creativity' should never forget its precisely defined task in the service of selling a real product or service. Clients are here to constantly remind us about ‘figures' that need to be reached, we are here to constantly remind them that this can be done in a myriad of interesting manners. When we all succeed, Roko Tours and the Effie Grand Prix happen.”
